After spending five days on Lake Atitlán, Elliott and I headed back to Antigua, so we would be closer to Guatemala City for our flight to San Jose, Costa Rica, the following afternoon. We weren’t particularly excited about the prospect of spending a night in Guatemala City, we enjoyed our time in Antigua and it’s only about an hour away from the airport, so we figured it was the best option.
We arrived in Antigua in the late afternoon, paid for two beds at Amigos Hostel and arranged for transport to the airport. Then we went back to the textile market to pick up a few more gifts and grabbed dinner at a Texas BBQ restaurant.
After that, we drank some Gallo beers, shared another Cuban cigar, did some travel planning on the roof of our hostel, and then went to bed after I finished watching the first episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race Allstars 2.
